Greetings, dear teachers!
May is perfect for arranging trips, starting new things and self-education. Here at EnglishDom, we believe, that there is always a room for improvement. Therefore, here is an excellent selection of useful free online resources to continue professional development.
In the first place, we have The BBC Teachers’ Room. Dan and Sian definitely know everything about teaching practice! They are happy to share some ideas in a fascinating and entertaining manner. As they say, you just have to grab a cup of coffee, pull up an armchair and relax. This is how you learn things better.
The second resource is pretty much well-known by everyone who has ever tried online training. Welcome to Coursera, a company that offers online courses taught by top instructors from the world’s best universities and educational institutions. The module Learning to Teach Online is certainly worth seeing. It is represented by Associate Professor Simon McIntyre and Dr. Negin Mirriahi, the true professionals from the State University of Australia.
Before moving to the third one, let’s take a moment and think back: did you want to be a Hogwarts student? Or maybe a teacher? Can you do magic at your classes? Christopher Emdin, Associate Professor of the Department of Natural Sciences (and co-founder of Science Genius B.A.T.T.L.E.S), can give you advice on how to be a sorcerer-teacher. Be sure to check it out!
Devote considerable time to self-improvement and aim high!
With love, EnglishDom
